File/New/Document Without Libraries

You can, by the way, deliberately override the Maestro Font Default file if you want to open a completely blank, unformatted document. To do so, select the File menu, then New, then Document Without Libraries. Instead of modifying the Maestro Font Default file we’ve provided, you can also open an unformatted blank document this way, customize it to your tastes, and save it in the Finale 2014/Music Files folder, titling it “Maestro Font Default.FTMX”; it will work the same way.
